Open Blog Post to Tech CEO’s re Social Media
As CIO for the city of Edmonton I typically get multiple calls and emails everyday from sales people in your Tech companies.
A few people intro themselves via linkedin, but 95% of them ask for a meeting, which in my opinion is an old model. I think it is time for you to encourage your sales reps to start to build valued relationships thru social media. I do realize that many CIO’s are not in that space yet, however some of us are, so time to make the switch.
As tech companies what are your goals and objectives when it comes to using the technology tools to your advantage. There are new conversations happening in Social Media, and if your sales people are not there they are NOT part of the conversation.
So give then the green light and let them enter the space.
